Meet Dr. Telma Barseghian (Carmel, CA)

Telma Barseghian, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry with Honors from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Barseghian has been providing comprehensive eye care on the Monterey Peninsula since 1994. She offers full-scope optometric care for patients of all ages, from infants to older adults, with clinical interests in comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, eye disease management, treatment of eye infections and injuries, and cataract and laser surgery co-management. She is dedicated to delivering compassionate, personalized care that helps patients maintain lifelong vision health.

Inspired to pursue optometry after meeting several young blind skiers during a college trip, Dr. Barseghian has remained committed to improving vision and serving her community. Throughout her career, she has participated in volunteer eye care programs in El Salvador and at low-income shelters in Berkeley, and has volunteered with organizations including the Lions Club and the Boys and Girls Club.

Outside of the office, she enjoys running, kayaking, camping, hiking, playing the piano, and traveling. She is proud to call Pacific Grove home, where she and her husband, Adam, raised their two daughters.
